Round Mountain
Round Mountain is a census-designated place (CDP) in central Nye County, Nevada, best known as the site of one of the largest open-pit gold mines in the United States. As of the 2020 Census, the community had a population of approximately 1,200, most of whom are connected to the local mining industry.[1]
Round Mountain was established in the early 1900s as a gold mining camp, and today it supports the operations of the **Round Mountain Gold Mine**, currently owned and operated by Kinross Gold Corporation. The community includes company-supported housing, amenities, and services for its workforce.[2]
