Pioche is a historic mining town and the county seat of Lincoln County, Nevada. Nestled in the high desert mountains of southeastern Nevada along U.S. Route 93, Pioche had a population of approximately 600 as of the 2020 Census.[1]

Founded in the 1860s after silver was discovered in the nearby hills, Pioche quickly developed a reputation as one of the roughest towns in the Old West—reportedly more violent than Tombstone, Arizona. At its peak, Pioche had over 6,000 residents and dozens of saloons and businesses. Today, it’s a quiet but fascinating destination for history buffs and outdoor explorers.[2]
