It is located at the junction of Interstate 80 and State Route 305 along the Humboldt River. As of the 2020 Census, Battle Mountain had a population of approximately 3,200 residents.[1]

Historically a railroad and mining hub, Battle Mountain continues to serve as a regional center for gold mining, ranching, and outdoor recreation.
