Yerington is a city in western Nevada and the county seat of Lyon County. Located along the Walker River in a fertile high desert basin, Yerington had a population of approximately 3,100 as of the 2020 Census.[1]

The town began as a ranching and trading hub in the late 19th century and continues to serve as a regional center for agriculture, government, and outdoor recreation. Yerington is known for its onion and alfalfa fields, small-town events, and proximity to mining and Native communities.[2]
