About Nevada Wiki
Nevada Wiki is a public, community-edited encyclopedia focused entirely on the state of Nevada. From remote desert ghost towns to finding fun things to do, Nevada Wiki aims to be a resource for everything about the Silver State — past, present, and future.
What Is Nevada Wiki?
Nevada Wiki is a collaborative project to build the most comprehensive knowledgebase of all things Nevada. It is open to the public — anyone can read, edit, or create articles about:
- Cities, towns, and tribal communities
- Nevada law, government, and elections
- Geography, environment, and infrastructure
- Culture, history, and local lore
- Schools, universities, and public services
- Notable people, events, and issues
Who Runs Nevada Wiki?
This project is independently operated by volunteers. It is not affiliated with the State of Nevada, any official government body. Content is moderated by a group of community editors and administrators who maintain the site's standards and organization.
How It Works
Nevada Wiki runs on the MediaWiki platform — the same software used by Wikipedia. All content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows anyone to use, share, and build upon the material with proper attribution.

Editorial Standards
We aim for content that is:
- **Accurate** – based on reliable sources
- **Neutral** – avoids bias or promotion
- **Relevant** – focused on Nevada-specific topics
- **Respectful** – especially when covering living people
For more on rules and formatting, see the Nevada Wiki:Content Guidelines.
Why Nevada Wiki Exists
While platforms like Wikipedia offer general information, Nevada Wiki is built for deeper detail — the kind of regional, civic, cultural, and historical knowledge that often gets overlooked elsewhere. We want to preserve and document Nevada’s unique identity and help future generations access that knowledge.
