Sun Valley is a large unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Washoe County, Nevada, located directly north of Reno and Sparks. As of the 2020 Census, Sun Valley had a population of approximately 21,000, making it one of the most populous unincorporated areas in the state.[1]

Sun Valley has historically served as an affordable housing alternative for the Reno-Sparks metro area. The community features a mix of suburban neighborhoods, manufactured homes, and local parks, and is supported by local and county services.[2]
