Sparks is a city in western Nevada, located in Washoe County just east of Reno. It is part of the Reno–Sparks metropolitan area and, as of the 2020 Census, had a population of approximately 108,000.[1]

Founded in 1904 as a division point for the Southern Pacific Railroad, Sparks has grown into a thriving city with strong residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. It is home to Victorian Square, family-friendly neighborhoods, and major logistics and manufacturing facilities. The city is also known for its community events like Hot August Nights and the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off.[2]
